How is the cruise industry becoming more sustainable?

After the media repeatedly portray cruises as environmental offenders par excellence, current figures provide a more differentiated picture. AIDA is a pioneer in this field. The German shipping Company operates the world’s first environmentally-friendly cruise ship, the AIDA Nova. Thanks to Liquefied natural gas (LNG) a natural gas cooled to -260 degrees F, it emits up to 90% less emissions than conventional fuel ships. Other shipping companies are moving in and so stand 26 LNG cruise ships the delivery – among others to Costa, MSC, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruises, TUI, P&O and Disney Cruises:
